Ms. Resty Kezabu Mutaawe

Resty Kezabu Mutaawe brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the board of WADNGONET as an Independent Board Member. Elected by the general assembly, she is entrusted with spearheading the development and effective implementation of organizational work plans, particularly in resource mobilization and grant management. With her leadership roles in Change African Child International and as the Country Link & Mobilizer of Good Deeds Day Uganda network, Resty is poised to make significant contributions to WADNGONET's mission.

 

Resty holds a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, with a focus on Economics and Social Administration, from Makerere University. She is a trained social worker with expertise in community-based counseling, particularly in HIV/AIDS counseling and managing discordance issues. With seven years of experience at Meeting Point Kampala NGO, where she served as a senior counselor and Head of Department for Palliative Care, Resty founded and registered Change African Child Int. in 2012. Notably, she currently serves as the host of Good Deeds Day in Uganda, linking the country to African nations and the global community.

Resty's leadership style is characterized by organization, time management, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. She actively engages stakeholders, forwards suggestions, and fosters positive attitudes to achieve goals effectively. Her initiative to improve WADNGONET's social media presence demonstrates her commitment to enhancing organizational visibility and engagement. Moreover, her involvement in empowering CSO networks showcases her dedication to strengthening civil society leadership.

Resty is deeply committed to WADNGONET's mission of providing a platform for NGOs to influence governance and development processes in Uganda. She recognizes the importance of collaboration and collective action in achieving shared goals, emphasizing the need for unity among organizations for impactful change.

Resty's personal values of transparency, openness, and respect align with her professional demeanor. She values active listening, empathy, and compassion, which guide her interactions with others. Her analytical skills enable her to interpret information effectively and make informed decisions. Additionally, her commitment to volunteering for charitable causes reflects her altruistic nature and dedication to social responsibility.

Resty envisions a future for WADNGONET where the organization has its own permanent offices with a well-established secretariat/administration. She proposes mobilizing resources through a database of organizations operating in Wakiso and implementing a "power of development fee" to fund office acquisition and construction. Her strategic approach aims to leave a lasting legacy in WADNGONET's leadership and enhance the organization's capacity for sustainable growth.
